Launching

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Too early for breakfast, I set a warm mug on my desk, opened this morning’s email, and learned that the manuscript for my coming-of-age novel was a FINALIST for the 2018 Cascade Writer’s Contest.

Pinch me.

. . . and put me to work. At the recent Seattle Writing Workshop, one agent told me that whenever she receives a query for a piece that interests her, she promptly Googles the author, looking for the online presence that lets authors and their readers spend time together—AND that gets the word out on that author’s work. If the agent finds what she’s looking for, she reads on. If she doesn’t, well . . . the manuscript had better snag her buttons and not let go.

Her comment and that wonderful email finally sent me to WordPress with a plan: Most Fridays, God willing, I’ll post. About things like the natural world, relationships—and how the two intersect. Mindfulness. Dogs. Book reviews, excerpts from my published works, updates on works in progress, guest posts. Whatever’s on my mind. Or yours.

And holy moments.

Sound good? Anything else you’d like to hear from me? Looking forward to our time together.
