Snapped this barn near Waterville, WA, then did a little research when I got home. Apparently Dr. R.V. Pierce (NY Senator and US Congressman) targeted rural Americans in the late 1800s and early 1900s with barn ads for his mail-order potions— opiate-laced, according to some.
Sold like hotcakes.

Wow, what a great old barn, I would like it even more if it’s advertisement was fading away also. What interesting history you dug up. This opioid problem has been passed along for a very long time.🙁
