Fledgling gull with pinfeathers takes flight from water

Pinfeathers.

When you are too young to fly, but do it anyway.
.
This fledgling gull was swimming alone near the fish cleaning station at a Port Renfrew marina, waiting for salmon entrails to fall her way.  Only when she took flight did I realize how young she was.

She launched like a pro.
