Leeward.

Heron huddles in forest

Leeward.

I didn’t want to spook them, so only snapped this one. Four herons escaped the icy northeaster behind a dense windbreak at the edge of our pond. Once the wind let up, they flew.

“I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.”

—Psalm 55:8
