The children start it.
A squirm in one’s chair
at dinner,
a shout as plates clear,
a tug by small hands
on my elbow, his shirt.
Then a parent picks tunes,
volume up,
and we oldsters join them all
to whirl, laugh, sing.
To dance.

Other times, outdoors, it’s just God and me, dancing.

“Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing. And Miriam sang to them: ‘Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed . . . ‘”

They can really put on a show, these mountains! The North Cascades—Mt. Baker—in farthest NW Washington State. 🙂

They remind me a bit of the Tetons where I live over here in Idaho! Just lovely!

Thanks! I thought that, too, when I saw your Tetons. Such a gift that we can live in proximity to these gorgeous ranges.
