My six week hiatus to work on my next novel began when Blake and I left our Washington winter behind and flew to California. At a nature preserve between Big Sur and Carmel, on a Central Coast beach, and at tables both on high mesa and in flatlands, we gathered with family to eat, talk, laugh.
